About The Certification

The UESCA triathlon coach certification is an all-encompassing program that is 100% online-based using a series of robust training modules. The UESCA triathlon certification was developed by reviewing the latest professional sports science journals and through feedback from our professional and seasoned team.

The training modules are comprised of varying learning mediums including text, images and video. Upon registering for the certification, the user has one year (365 days) to take the exam. Studying for the exam is self-paced.

The goal of this certification is to inform and educate individuals on the science behind triathlon training and the application of this information.

Can I register for a certification if I reside outside the United States?
Absolutely! In fact, about 40% of our purchasers are international. However, it is important to note that rules and regulations noted in our certifications pertain to coaching in the United States via the US governing sport bodies. It is the sole responsibility of the individual purchasing the certification(s) to ensure that the UESCA certification meets any and all legal and regulatory requirements in one’s home country. All UESCA modules are in English.
How long does the course take?

Yes, a score of 80% is required to pass. One retest is included at no charge.
How many CEU’s are required to maintain the certification?
None. UESCA does not require traditional CEU’s but rather requires coaches to write a science-based paper every two years.
Is there an annual or biannual renewal fee?
No. While UESCA is a for-profit company, we do not believe that requiring in-house CEU’s or renewal fees is the correct method to attain revenue. We believe that annual and biannual fees to maintain a certification amounts to little more than price gouging.
Can I access the modules on my tablet or smartphone?
Yes, our website and modules are mobile-friendly.
Will I be issued a certificate upon successfully passing the exam?
Yes, those residing in the United States will receive a certificate in the mail while those residing outside the United States will receive their certificate electronically.
